About our Village Hall

The Warsash Victory Hall is run by a Management Committee consisting of representatives from the clubs and societies who use the Victory Hall and local volunteers who give their time and skills which enable the committee to keep the Village Hall in good order so that others may enjoy the facilities for a long time to come.

  • The original hall was called the Warsash Reading Room where 'men and young men'  met to read papers, play games and drink tea (not a female in sight)
  • After the first world war a new building was attached and called the Victory Hall.
  • The two attached buildings were known collectively as the Victory Hall until 1975.
  • In 1975 the old Victory Hall and Reading Room were demolished and the new Victory Hall built on the same site.
  • The Victory Hall is now a pre-fabricated building with flat roof.
  • We are a  charity and that means 'all maintenance and other costs' must be found from Victory Hall funds which in turn come from fees charged to users so that the Committee is able to continue to provide this facility for the Village of Warsash.
